Delphine's story

KickCancer founder Delphine Heenen shares her personal story

For the first time, Delphine Heenen, founder of KickCancer, shares her personal story. After her son Raphaël lived with cancer for 11 years before passing away, her determination to change the future for children with cancer has only grown stronger.

When Raphaël's cancer returned in 2016, Delphine was shocked to discover that innovation was lagging for children with cancer. No promising new drugs and no clinical trials were available for her son.

Find out how childhood cancer turned one family's life upside down and sparked the foundation of KickCancer — a remarkable organisation with the important mission to cure every child with cancer.

"We need to fund specific research on childhood cancer. To cure every child, with better and less toxic treatments, so they can live happy, joyful lives."

€25.000 – Speaking up for young patients and their families

KickCancer takes part in a strategic discussion forum to represent the voice of patients, together with public authorities, doctors, researchers, industry leaders, and other patient representatives. We want to rethink how new treatments for children with cancer are developed and structurally improved. This forum needs funding to coordinate these crucial joint discussions.

“I cannot accept the lack of innovation in childhood cancer treatment that leaves too many young patients without hope. That's why I'm asking for your support. Every donation helps kick the cancer monster away for good!”
