As head of European Affairs of Childhood Cancer International-Europe, Delphine Heenen spoke at several policy events at the European Parliament in 2024 to represent the voice of childhood cancer patients and their families.

In February, on International Childhood Cancer Day, she presented the key political priorities from the European Manifesto, with a strong call to boost research and innovation in paediatric oncology.

In September, Delphine brought forward the patients’ and parents’ perspective, highlighting the need for equal access to medicines, clinical research, and quality care everywhere in Europe.

In November, as part of Children’s Rights Day, Delphine delivered a powerful intervention on cross-border healthcare, sharing real-life stories of families navigating cancer treatment, and calling for urgent action to ensure no child’s future would depend on their country of origin.
