FIGHT KIDS CANCER

This is one of the achievements we are most proud of.

FIGHT KIDS CANCER is a joint initiative by KickCancer, Imagine for Margo (France) and the Fondatioun Kriibskrank Kanner (Luxembourg), the aim of which is to accelerate the most innovative treatments thanks to European financing and collaboration of research on paediatric cancers. FIGHT KIDS CANCER entails the launch of recurring annual calls for projects.

In October 2020, we launched our second FIGHT KIDS CANCER call for projects which lead to the selection, by independent international experts, of 5 new innovative research projects of European scope for a total amount of 3,45 million euros of which KickCancer will finance 800 000 €. Through these projects, we hope to foster improvements in the knowledge and treatment of the following diseases:

  • B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (clinical trial)
  • Ewing's sarcoma (clinical trial)
  • Medulloblastoma (translational project)
  • Neuroblastoma (2 translational projects)
In Belgium, France, Luxembourg and Italy, as well as in other European countries in the future, those projects are financed thanks to the organisation of our charity family races. When more runners participate or their motivation to fundraise increases, the amount we can invest in research follows suit.

Participate in RUN TO KICK 2021 by running, walking or donating to one of your friends that participate or by sponsoring us and shooting kids’ cancer forever away!

In 2020, the first call for projects lead to the selection of six innovative projects for a total amount of 3,08 million euros, from which 800 000 € were financed by KickCancer. These 6 projects are about the following diseases: high-grade gliomas (2 projects), acute myeloid leukaemia’s, rhabdoid tumours, osteosarcomas and neuroblastomas.
